Course Levels

College Prep

This course supports the language development of college-bound students. Each semester will have a balance of composition, applied grammar, and literature. The development of vocabulary, speaking, listening, researching, and test-taking will be ongoing during each semester.

Honors/Gifted

This course challenges college-bound students to extend and refine their use of language. Each semester will have a balance of composition, applied grammar, and an in-depth study of literature. The development of vocabulary, speaking, listening, researching and test-taking will be ongoing each semester.

Advanced Placement Courses

  • AP Seminar (10th grade)
  • AP Language & Composition (11th grade)
  • AP Literature & Composition (12th grade)
  • AP Research (11th or 12th grade) - Elective Credit

 

Graduation Requirements

Four years of Language Arts

  • 9th grade - Literature & Composition I
  • 10th grade - Literature & Composition II (EOC/Milestone course)
  • 11th grade American Literature
  • 12th grade Multicultural Literature

Students can replace 

Additionally, students can use Advanced Composition through Gwinnett Tech or Dual Enrollment to take the place of 10th or 12th grade LA.
