Dual Enrollment

Dual Enrollment is a state-funded program in which high school students can enroll at an eligible college/university to complete coursework that counts for both high school and college credit simultaneously.  Students are eligible for participation beginning in the summer preceding their Junior year.

Students must apply and be accepted to a participating post-secondary institution. View a list of eligible colleges and universities.  NOTE: dual enrollment classes do not receive weighted credit (additional ten points) in the student's GPA.

Grayson High School offers two options for dual enrollment:

  • "ON" Campus Dual Enrollment - Gwinnett Technical College courses taught by Grayson High School teachers who are qualified as adjunct professors through the college.  These courses take place in-person on the Grayson High School campus. There are limited courses available through this option.
  • "OFF" Campus Dual Enrollment - courses taught at participating colleges & universities.  Students can take those courses either in person on the college campus or virtually (at home or in a GHS lab). The majority of Grayson High School students participating in dual enrollment attend Gwinnett Technical College or Georgia Gwinnett College.

Students and families must contact their assigned counselor to determine whether dual enrollment would be an appropriate fit for the student.  Our goal is for students to be well-rounded and have time for family, homework, studying, socialization, and extra-curricular activities.
