Dual Enrollment Process
The dual enrollment program requires the following steps to be completed in order to finalize your participation.
- October - attend the interest meeting held in October of the year prior to participation.
- January - now that you have decided to participate in the dual enrollment program, attend the process meeting conducted by our counseling team. During this time, you will complete your dual enrollment registration packet. You will also need to join the Dual Enrollment Google Classroom using code BWPPXWA.
- February - apply to the college that you selected. It is your responsibility to follow all of the steps on the college's website, including submitting your transcript and available PSAT/SAT/ACT scores. You can schedule a placement exam in lieu of these items.
- February - complete the funding application. This is the only way that your courses will be funded and has two parts:
- Student portion - this video explains the process. Gather your date of birth, social security number, and parent's email address. Ensure that your social security number is on file at Grayson High School, if not already. This is the only way for you to secure funding and be able to access your HOPE GPA for college admissions.
- Parent/Guardian portion - access and complete the Dual Enrollment Participation Agreement. Once the student part is complete, your parent/guardian will need to use your application ID to complete the agreement. Please ensure that your parent/guardian has this information.
- February/March - wait on your acceptance. This is a good time to review your selected college's portal that you used to complete the application process. Ensure that there are no outstanding documents or requirements that you need to complete. Colleges will only process complete applications.
- Mid-March/Early April - schedule a meeting with your counselor through the Counseling Google Classroom for your grade level. You must have proof of your completed college application and materials before scheduling this appointment. This meeting is with your grade level counselor, not the dual enrollment coordinator. Find your counselor.
- Mid-April/Early May - after meeting with your counselor, you must submit your course plan electronically through a Google Form linked in the Dual Enrollment Google Classroom that you joined in step three. Every attempt will be made to honor your requested GHS schedule, as long as there are no conflicts. Once a schedule is established in August, you should attempt to keep your S2 college classes in the same time frame so that your S2 Grayson High schedule can stay the same.
- Prior to the last day of school - all schedules must be complete before you leave for the summer.
