Dear Grayson High School Parents, Guardians, and Students,
As we continue our commitment to maintaining a safe and welcoming learning environment, we want to share an important reminder regarding our daily arrival procedures.
The Evolv Express® Weapons Detection System is in operation daily at all student and visitor entrances. This state-of-the-art, touchless technology allows us to enhance campus security while keeping morning entry moving quickly and efficiently.
To help ensure a seamless arrival process every morning, we ask all students and visitors to remember the B.L.U.E. acronym before walking through the screeners.
🎒 Remember B.L.U.E. for Morning Entry
Certain everyday items contain dense metals or components that can trigger the Evolv system sensors. To prevent unnecessary delays and secondary checks, please remove the following B.L.U.E. items from your backpack and hold them out at chest level (or follow staff instructions to pass them around the towers) as you walk through:

B – Binders (large 3-ring binders with metal rings)

L – Laptops (school Chromebooks, personal laptops, and tablets)

U – Umbrellas (metal-framed umbrellas)

E – Eyeglass Cases (hard metal eyeglass/sunglass cases)
💡 Quick Tips for a Smooth Arrival

Be Ready in Line: Pull your B.L.U.E. items out of your bag before you reach the front of the security line.

Keep Everyday Electronics in Bags: Standard items like cell phones, keys, wallets, and small metal water bottles typically do not need to be removed unless requested by staff.

Secondary Screening: If a scanner flags a potential item, a staff member will guide the student to a designated resolution table for a brief visual check before proceeding to class.
We greatly appreciate the partnership of our parents in reinforcing these habits at home, and we thank our students for their cooperation each morning. By working together, we keep Grayson High School safe, secure, and focused on learning.
